Teamsters Local 25 Endorses Michelle Wu for Mayor of Boston

Union unequivocally supports City Councilor Wu as strong leader who will support issues of importance to Local 25 members and their families, while standing-up to greedy corporations.
BOSTON, MA (February 23, 2021) – Teamsters Local 25 is proud to endorse Boston City Councilor At-Large Michelle Wu for Mayor of Boston. Calling her a fearless fighter working to improve the lives of workers by refusing to back down to corporations and their anti-worker rhetoric, Teamsters Local 25 is supporting Wu as the best choice who will champion issues of importance to Local 25 members and their families.
“Michelle Wu is a strong leader who will stand-up for our members during this unprecedented time when greedy corporations are trying to expand profits at the expense of workers,” said Teamsters Local 25 President Sean O’Brien. “Michelle Wu has been relentless fighting for better wages, health insurance, retirement benefits and improved working conditions. As the daughter of immigrants, Michelle shares our vision for the City of Boston, with an understanding that access to training and other neighborhood resources will help the working class that makes this city great. Teamsters Local 25 is proud to endorse Michelle Wu as the next Mayor of Boston.”

Congratulations Marty Walsh, U.S Secretary of Labor

Congratulations to Marty Walsh, who was confirmed by the Senate today to be U.S. Secretary of Labor. Marty has always been a staunch supporter of working families and worker rights. We know you will take those values with you to Washington, D.C., and people across the country will be better for it. Congratulations!

“Teamsters Local 25 congratulates Marty Walsh on becoming United States Secretary of Labor,” said Teamsters Local 25 President Sean O’Brien. “After four years of a labor department run by corporate attorneys and consultants and huge corporations such as Amazon showing no regard for workers or safety, Marty Walsh represents a breath of fresh air for working families and organized labor. Marty has the proven ability to facilitate partnerships among big business, unions, and environmentalists. He’s skilled at brokering relations and mediating any potential conflicts in a way that is good for workers and good for business. Marty Walsh has the strong leadership characteristic of bringing people together and unions and workers will no longer be left out of the equation in Washington.”
