INVENTORY CONTROL CLERKS AT MARTIGNETTI COMPANIES JOIN TEAMSTERS LOCAL 25Inventory Control Clerks at Martginetti Companies in Taunton now join the ranks of their co-workers who are proud union members. Yesterday the company paved the way for these three employees to become members of Teamsters Local 25 when the company signed the voluntary recognition agreement. Approximately 300 Martigenetti workers are represented by Teamsters Local 25, Teamsters Local 122 and Teamsters Local 653. “We stood ready to strike the entire company for these three employees, with the support of Teamsters’ Local 122 and Local 653,” said Local 25 Secretary-Treasurer Steven J. South, who represents the workers. “But less than an hour before the deadline the company signed the voluntary recognition agreement which paved the way for them to become Teamsters. The Inventory Control Clerks will now enjoy the same Teamster benefits that their brothers and sisters have as we will accrete them into our existing bargaining agreement.” The three employees work out of the Taunton warehouse and are responsible for tracking inventory so that items are accurately tracked and stored. They have all been at the company for six years or less. Kristen St. Ours has worked at the company for seven months, and both Edilberto “Hector” Vaquerano and Jesse Johnson for six years. “I want to thank Teamsters Local 122 and Teamsters Local 653 for standing in solidarity with us,” said Local 25 President Thomas G. Mari. “It is not always about the large groups. The smaller groups matter just as much, and this victory exemplifies the power of our union when we work together.” Teamsters Local 25 is the largest Teamsters union in New England with more than 11,500 members.
